Antique Victorian 9ct yellow gold bar brooch featuring a line of seed pearls framed by a rope in a marquise shape. On the back of the brooch there are a number of hallmarks and makers marks indicating the piece is 9ct gold hallmarked in Birmingham in 1897 by J.H&S.

Seed pearls in the Victorian era were associated with a number of symbols such as innocence, purity, humility and harmony.
